Golf Cart FAQ

Straight answers to the questions I get most often.

Buying a Cart

How much does a golf cart cost?

At TNB, carts typically range from $3,000–$8,000 depending on the year, make, model, condition, and what’s been done to it. New carts from dealers can run $10,000–$15,000+. Buying a quality used cart that’s been properly inspected and built is almost always the smarter move.

Do you have inventory available right now?

Inventory changes regularly. Call or text (530) 794-8787 to find out what’s currently available, or check the inventory page on this site.

What brands do you carry?

I work with EZGO, Club Car, and Yamaha primarily — the three most reliable golf cart brands. I work on gas and electric models across all three.

Can I trade in my current cart?

Call or text and tell me what you have. I’ll give you a straight answer on whether it’s something I can work with.

Service & Repair

Do you service all brands?

Yes — EZGO, Club Car, Yamaha, and others. Gas and electric. If you’ve got a cart that isn’t running right, call or text and describe what it’s doing. I’ll tell you if I can help.

Do you offer mobile service?

Yes. If your cart won’t run or you’d rather not trailer it, I come to you anywhere in Solano County. Most battery, electrical, and diagnostic work can be handled on-site.

How much does service cost?

It depends on what it needs. I’ll diagnose it first and tell you exactly what’s wrong and what it costs before any work starts. No surprises on the invoice.

Batteries

Lithium vs. lead-acid — which is better?

Lithium wins on almost every metric: lighter, longer range, longer lifespan (8–10 years vs. 4–6), faster charging, and no maintenance. The upfront cost is higher but it pays off. Lead-acid is still fine if you’re on a tight budget and don’t drive much. I’ll tell you which makes sense for your situation.

How long do golf cart batteries last?

Lead-acid: 4–6 years with proper maintenance (keeping water levels up, not deep-discharging). Lithium: 8–10+ years with almost no maintenance. How you charge and store the cart makes a big difference either way.

Street Legal in California

Can a golf cart be street legal in California?

Yes — golf carts can be registered as Low Speed Vehicles (LSVs) in California and driven on roads with speed limits of 35 mph or under. Requirements include: headlights, taillights, turn signals, mirrors, horn, seatbelts, and a windshield. I build street legal carts and can walk you through what’s required for your specific cart.

What does a street legal build cost?

Depends on what the cart already has and what it needs. Call or text and tell me what you’re starting with — I’ll give you a straight estimate.

Service Area

What areas do you serve?

All of Solano County — Vacaville, Fairfield, Dixon, Suisun City, Benicia, Vallejo, Rio Vista, and surrounding areas. Mobile service is available throughout the county.
